Welcome to Rocket Fox

March 27, 2011

Rocket Fox is a blog for Telemetry and Data logging. The name is related to Amateur Radio Fox Hunting and Richard Fox's 1969 Foxmitter that I came up with in 1975. Enjoy :)

SparkFun 9DOF board video

April 28, 2011

Frank Hermes created a great board for GO-NO-GO staging using his extensive study of IMUs on the market. http://www.rocketelectronics.com/

I wanted to augment that with a device that would telemeter in real time the attitude of the rocket. This way we could determine if the rocket had a good attitude or a bad attitude.

A rocket with a Bad Attitude yields a bad day of flying. Below is our test of the SparkFun 9DOF ver II Razor IMU with AHRS software found here:

NARCON 2011 Presentation

April 21, 2011

Here is the PDF of my NARCON 2011 presentation on Telemetry and Datalogging. My Presenting style is to use the slides as cue cards and talk "Ad Hoc", so the PDF does not contrain the details, only the subject overviews.

A future RocketFox blog video will present this as a 60min seminar with the details

How to say Arduino ?

January 31, 2011

If you have a fine Italian red wine in your left hand, take a sip and then hold your thumb and first finger of the right hand together; smack them to your lips and say:

“AR-Doo'-Wee-No"

But if you want to pronounce it like folks do Telemetry, then say like you would Ardvark:

"AR-D'wee-New" also heard as "Ard-We-No"
